5 Ways to Dominate Your WOD


CrossFit WODS are both physically and mentally challenging and sometimes it’s overwhelming to figure out where to start. Even the smallest adjustments can improve your performance at the box. The good news is, the decision to get better is all yours. Focus in on these simple suggestions, as they are crucial to enhance your CrossFit game.

SHOW UP!

Does the WOD today have a movement that scares you? Show up anyway. Every day brings a new opportunity to get better, but you have to be present to improve.

OWN IT!

Double-unders are a skill that needs to be refined and trained. Practicing with a rope that is specifically sized for you will cut out the chance of inconsistencies due to weight and length from using what your box has to offer. Buy a good rope and use it as often as you can.

TRACK!  

Log your strength numbers and benchmark times. Henry Kissinger said it best: “If you do not know where you are going, every road will get you nowhere.” Plus, it’s always nice motivation to look back and see how much you have improved throughout your journey.

MOB OUT!

Mobility or mobilisation is not to be confused with warming up. Mobility is working on range of motion to help solve certain positional problems that affect your performance in WODS and efficiency of your lifts. Until an athlete integrates mobility into their routine, they cannot realize or take advantage of their total athletic abilities.

HYDRATE!

Water is everything. Being well hydrated improves your performance and keeps your body functioning properly. DRINK UP before, during, and after your workout.
