Making time for training is hard with your regular everyday life — not to mention if you’re traveling. Being in an unfamiliar place, away from your normal box and all its equipment certainly doesn’t make it easier to get your WOD on. However, where there’s a will, there’s a way. Lauren Fisher recently proved that with a simple but spicy WOD she did while visiting Africa. Where she was staying, each lodge came with a set of 2kg dumbbells and 5kg dumbbells, so she got to work on this AMRAP.

12-Minute AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible):

  • 3 strict press
  • 6 front squat
  • 9 push press
  • 12 thrusters
  • 9 burpees

While the individual reps may not feel all that demanding, making it through 12 minutes of this will undoubtedly test your engine.

If you’re staying in a hotel with a gym, there’s a good chance you can get your hands on some dumbbells, making this the perfect hotel WOD. Otherwise, you can consider swapping out the presses for push-ups and the thrusters for jump squats. Or, you can try this Rich Froning workout you can do just about anywhere — no dumbbells required!

Before you set the timer, pick the perfect music to sweat to. Check out TWL’s Spotify playlists for the ultimate WOD tunes.
