You might have noticed a familiar face missing at the Dubai CrossFit Championship: Katrin Davidsdottir, with a “WD” for every event on the leaderboard. The former Games champ took to Instagram to explain what held her back. But don’t count her out — this isn’t the end. Feel better soon, Katrin!

Not exactly the end of the year that I wanted but maybe just the one that I needed. – Last Friday I hurt my back in training – it’s happened before & normally it calms downs within a couple of days. I was FIT & I was feeling ready & the training was done. So as long as my body would heal before wednesday morning, I was on to COMPETE 💥👊🏼❤️ – Wednesday morning came around & as much as I was hoping & keeping a positive mindset about it .. you can’t fake a healthy body. It really broke my heart have to withdraw from the @dxbfitnesschamp this year. MAN, I want to be out on that competition floor 💔😔 BUT I truly believe things happen for a reason. I made the right choice for me, my body & my health. – There has been a lot of stress in my life lately & things going on & sometimes your body knows when you need to take second to stop. This is here to teach me something for a moment I need it in the future. I am going to use these weeks to HEAL UP & get STRONGER 💥❤️☺️💪🏼 This is fire for 2020. – Ps GOOD LUCK to everyone at DCC on the final day & THANK YOU to everyone coming up to me being so kind! It’s different being in the stands but now I get to meet all of you guys 😍 xxx – Photo: @flsportsguy
