More big changes coming for CrossFit? It’s looking like it. After Greg Glassman announced that he was stepping down as CEO and retiring, it appeared as if the sport was going to experience a massive shift. But athletes like Katrin Davidsdottir were quick to note that he still owns CrossFit.

It was clear that the change wasn’t going to stop here — not nearly. On Thursday this week, long-time community members like Chris Spealler, Rich Froning, Ben Smith, and Annie Sakamoto sat on a panel to discuss what should happen moving forward. In an Instagram post by Spealler, he said that all current and past affiliate owners were welcome to join the discussion.

According to Morning Chalk Up (referencing Beyond the Whiteboard), the consensus seemed pretty clear: Resigning and retiring isn’t enough. They want Glassman out of CrossFit.

“Greg Glassman (can) no longer own the company, or in any way financially benefit … from the affiliates,” said Sakamoto.

Spealler indicated that he’d want to see a “removal of Glassman having any influence over affiliates.”

Froning said that the affiliates should own the sport.

And apparently, it’s not just recent events that led to these opinions. Rather, the recent events were the straw that broke the camel’s back after years of issues.

What do you think? Should Glassman make his exit?
