Have you ever been in a room surrounded by 13 pugs?

We have.

We love to have fun with our limited edition collections. We’ve brought you all sorts of cool themes, from Popeye and Tutti Fruity to tropical prints and donuts. There is no shortage of clever ideas with this community.

For our latest limited edition, we wanted to do something special. Something unique. Something we’ve never done before. We sat down and asked ourselves, “What would make our community ridiculously happy?”

Countless slobbery doggy kisses later, here we are.

We’re thrilled to introduce you to The Pug Life.

For this collection, we combined man’s (and woman’s) best friend with iconic TWL pieces for a limited edition print that you won’t be able to resist. But we had something bigger in mind and wanted to make this about more than the apparel.

We worked with local rescues and 13 of the cutest creatures we’ve ever seen to bring you this latest print. It was about so much more than the pups themselves…

… although they were a big part of it, if we’re being honest. Just look at ’em!

It was also about giving back. These rescues do so much for the animals and the communities, and The WOD Life wanted to get involved. That’s why we’re giving a portion of the sales to Pug Patrol Rescue Australia — a team of animal lovers that’s committed to rescuing, fostering, and facilitating adoptions, as well as educating the public on the dangers of breeding exploitation, like puppy farms and backyard breeders.

Breeding exploitation is all sorts of bad news for dogs. It turns it into a business and puts profit over the welfare of the animal. We shouldn’t be putting a price on the health and happiness of living creatures. This is just one of the reasons why the work that Pug Patrol Rescue Australia does is so vital. They give a voice to the voiceless.

If you’re interested in supporting their cause, you can donate here. Every dollar helps.

Rescues rely so heavily on donations to keep their doors open, and it was really important to us to shine light on the amazing work that these rescues do, which is why most of the pups in The Pug Life shoot came from rescues.

There were all sorts of pugs! Some were big, and some were small. Some were outgoing, and others were a little more shy. But one thing is for certain: All of them were equally perfect. Don’t @ us.

Our team really enjoyed getting to know each pug individually. We even had a bit of a celebrity on set: Zero. Zero recently appeared in a 2020 SAPOL seat belt campaign. Check him out in the video below! (Wasn’t that face made for showbiz?)

He’s also got upcoming appearances on TV and social media in the MS Game Changer Lottery campaign for 2021. And! If you’re at the footy this season, you will see him in the RAA advert for both the Port and Crows games.

Zero is keeping incredibly busy. He has a few more big projects in the works for 2021, so you can plan to see more of him very soon. Keep up with all of Zero’s adventures on his Instagram page, and give him a follow.

It was hard to keep our cool around such a big celebrity, but we managed. The Pug Life photo shoot was memorable, to say the least. It was… dare we say… pugtastic.

You might be thinking, “Why pugs?!” To that we say, “Why not?”

First of all, we didn’t choose the pug life. The pug life chose us.

And secondly, these goofy little rascals are actually a lot more unique than you might suspect.

For example, did you know that Chinese emperors kept pugs and treated them like actual royals? They would even sometimes give their pugs their own tiny palaces and guards. (Can you blame them?! Don’t we all do that for our dogs?…)

Let’s talk about those adorable tails. Apparently, the ideal pug tail has precisely two curls — although we’d argue that all pug tails are perfect.

These cuties make the perfect companions, and there are so many out there looking for a helping hand or furrever home. That’s why TWL is beyond proud to have partnered with these precious pooches to bring you The Pug Life.

So, here’s what we’ve got going on.

We recently launched the giveaway, which will give one lucky winner and a friend the full line of merchandise for free. Here’s how you can enter to win.
