To get better at a movement, it helps to work on the weakest part. For squatting, that means the bottom of the squat. It’s in this position where so many of us can no longer maintain tension and collapse under the weight. Your back rounds, your knees cave in, and that’s the end of it. Lauren Fisher has one solution: dead stop front squats. It cuts the front squat in half, requiring you to start at the bottom from a complete stop and stand up with the weight. These are a lot harder than a traditional front squat, so start light!
