CrossFit Open Workout 15.3 – Results

 

We have now passed half way in the CrossFit Open, with CrossFit Open Workout 15.3 completed.

 

Dave Castro once again dropped a bomb, with the first time Muscle Ups were first in the workout.

 

Who got their first muscle up as a result?

 

Ben Smith topped the men’s leaderboard with 630 reps and Sam Briggs scored 633, edging out Kara Webb to win the women’s workout for week three.

Mat Fraser overtakes Rich Froning for the first time in the CrossFit Open. With all the talk about Rich Froning not going individual this year and Fraser the next in line, Fraser has his sights set on finishing first overall in a competition where Rich competes as an individual. Can Fraser hold on our will Rich kick into another gear and secure that top spot?

Camille Le-blanc Bazinet continues her hunt for the CrossFit Open title, maintaining her lead after the third week of competition. Australia’s Kara Webb moves up into second place with another amazing Open Workout.

CrossFit Games Affiliate Cup Champions CrossFit Invictus continue to assert themselves at the top of the table after three weeks of competition. Australia’s CrossFit Active move into 7th, representing as the only Australian team inside the Top 20.

For a third week in a row Dean Linder Leighton continues to top the standings for the men in Australia. The top 5 is rounded out with seasoned CrossFit Games Athletes; Porter, Swan and Mackay. After being hotly tipped for a berth at the CrossFit Games in 2014 but missing out due to a regionals performance, Ben Garard currently sits in second.

Kara Webb asserts herself in first, ahead of  Jess Coughlan and Denae Brown.  Can anyone catch Kara? Stand out for week three was Tia-Clair Toomey, finishing in third place in Australia with a 508 reps on CrossFit Open Workout 15.3 and moves into 7th overall.

The Australian Teams leaderboard holds true after three weeks, with no change in the Top 3 between CrossFit Athletic, CrossFit Norwest and Schwartz CrossFit. With limited places up for grabs at Regionals this year, the Team competition will be hotly contested.
