Gyms all around the globe have one thing in common – the type of people they attract. It doesn’t matter what sort of fitness center you go to or where it happens to be, you will see the same kinds of people there. Not sure what we mean? Here are seven characters you’re sure to run into no matter which gym you train at.
1. The Social Media Lover Who Records Everything
If they didn’t post it on Instagram, it didn’t happen, right? This person loves to share everything with everybody. They can’t help it — they’re a giver! You’ll usually find them taking a not-so-subtle selfie near the weights or with their eyes fixed on their phone screens while they tweet about how they’re getting in shape. It’s a miracle they have any time left to… work out. We love ’em anyway. Besides, recording your lifts helps you improve. Win!
2. The Experienced Athlete With All the *Best* Gear
You know the drill. This person is an old-timer – they’ve clearly been hitting the gym for years and years. It shows. Everything they do is pure perfection and they don’t even look smug about it. Plus, they’ve got all the best gym gear too. From their badass skull-print RockTape Assassins knee sleeves to the best grips to the latest and greatest in apparel, this person is more kitted out than anybody you’ve ever seen.
3. That Person Who Dumps Their Weights Every… Single… Time…
You’re just trying to work out and get your sweat on when you hear it. Bang! Someone over in the corner is dumping massive weight every few seconds. Friend, we can so appreciate how strong you are, and we know how hard you work, but there’s a golden rule to learn here. If you can lift it, you can put it down smoothly too. Write that down.
4. The One Who Loves to Chit-Chat
I mean, we don’t totally blame them. After all, your gym squad is pretty much your family. Of course you want to chat it up with them! But maybe, ya know, we can do a little less gabbing and a little more training.
5. The Know-it-All Fitness Guru
Not sure how to use a certain piece of equipment? Don’t panic – this person has your back. They will notice you struggling and head right over. Whether you want their advice or not, you’re about to get it. Not only will they tell you how to do certain exercises but they will also note what you’re doing wrong. Prepare to be annoyed, but remember, they mean well! Besides, they do have some good advice to offer.
6. The Fashionista Who is Picture Perfect
How is it possible someone looks this good while they’re training? Everything they’re wearing looks brand new. The whole outfit works as a fitness ensemble and you can see they have color coordinated each item perfectly. Not fair.
7. The Over-Enthusiastic Newbie
So many of us behave the same when we first start. We’re so excited that we train eight days a week, go out and purchase all the gear, and generally treat the gym as our second home. This is called the honeymoon phase, and it’s one of the greatest feelings in the world.
Do you fit somewhere on this list? Don’t be embarrassed. We all do at some point in our lives. Gear up, train hard, and have fun! Shop with TWL today.
