He’s a CrossFit OG. Everyone knows his name. He’s an athlete on a level of his own, but a string of injuries have held him back the last several years. With the announcement that Dan Bailey has received an invite to compete at the first Sanctionals event of the 2020 season — CrossFit Filthy 150 — many of us are wondering: Is this the year Bailey finally makes it back to the Games?

As Morning Chalk Up points out, the road hasn’t always been smooth for Bailey. He experienced his career best at the 2015 Games, finishing 4th, but in 2016, he missed qualification; in 2017, he withdrew from Regionals due to injury; and in 2018, he withdrew from the Open due to injury. No one doubts Bailey’s abilities to show up to the competition floor and absolutely crush it. The challenge in the past few years, it seems, was simply staying healthy enough to do it.

Without a doubt, Bailey has put in the blood, sweat, and tears to make it to the top. Do you think we’ll see him at the Games this year?

CrossFit Filthy 150 goes down in Dublin, Ireland, November 22-24. Mark your calendars.
