When stepping on the competition floor, there is one objective: to win. In a competition like the Team division at the Reebok CrossFit Games, that can seem like a big goal especially when Rich Froning and CrossFit Mayhem is the team to beat. But it’s certainly not impossible.

Wasatch CrossFit lead by Adrian Conway proved that. Together, they may have been a rookie team, but Conway has taken the competition floor both as an individual and as part of a team, just like Froning. Wasatch CrossFit and CrossFit Mayhem made it a tight race with equal skills and strength, but in the end, Wasatch CrossFit stopped the Mayhem. They finished over 50 points ahead of the two-time defending Affiliate Cup Champions and for the next year, the cup will call Utah home.
No competitor enjoys taking second place. Rich Froning and the rest of the CrossFit Mayhem team are no exception. A legend in the sport, Froning has stood on the podium eight times. Only two of those times were one step down from the top. Both he and his team have experience at the Games and they fought for the title every step of the way. Wasatch CrossFit just proved to fight a little bit harder. Regardless, being the second Fittest Team on Earth is still a huge accomplishment and one to be respected.

Ending the weekend behind CrossFit Mayhem is the team from CrossFit Fort Vancouver. The Washington based team is one of the only teams to compete in the Affiliate Cup since it’s inception nine years ago. They closed out the weekend with seven Top 10 finishes and a total of 786 points.
