Khan Porter has come a long way. As he shared in an episode of The Journey, his mind wasn’t always in the right place with training. He once lost sight of what matters more than anything: finding joy in the process, regardless of the outcome. As the third and final week of Regionals kicks off and the athletes of the Pacific all come together to compete for the few spots left to the Games, we want to share this inspiring post from Khan. These are wise words we can all learn from, regardless of where we are in our fitness journey.

If I could summarise my journey as an athlete this year in one word that word would be “Joy”. Finding joy in the challenges and triumphs that form the process of preparing myself as best as possible. Joy in feeling myself getting fitter, stronger and better through that process, regardless of its outcome. Joy in the company of the legends I get to share that journey with each day. Joy in the excitement I feel as I look forward to seeing how my preparation pays off on the competition floor. Joy in being privileged enough to have my journey captured so beautifully by the talented @james_a_wood for @thewodlife. Joy in sharing a glimpse into my journey as openly and honestly as I can with you all. For the full episode of my journey through what has and continues to be my most enjoyable season of @CrossFit ever follow the link in my bio. (PS: I find it super weird watching videos of or about me, so let me know what you guys think as I still haven’t seen this ?) #TheJourney ?: @joshsymon
