With 2015 being the first year of the “Super Regions“, the former South East Region will merge with the Mid Atlantic Region becoming the Atlantic Region. After missing out on qualifying through the European Region last year due to a handstand walk mishap, the Atlantic Region is not going to be a walk over for Briggs either.

The new Atlantic Region boasts some top name athletes with CrossFit Games pedigree.  Emily Bridgers, Lauren Brooks and Cassidy Lance are all top ten finishers from the 2014 CrossFit Games. Anna Tunnicliffe (9th in 2013, 22nd in 2014), Christy Adkins (21st in 2011, 11th in 2012, 7th in 2013 and 21st in 2014)  and Talayna Fortunato (3rd in 2012, 5th in 2013, 33rd in 2014) are the other big names set to compete in the newly formed region who will be doing all they can to deny Briggs.

With these top names and no doubt some emerging talent, gaining a position within the Top 5 and a ticket to Carson, California for the 2015 CrossFit Games is going to be no walk in the park for the former champion.

Will Sam Briggs be able to do it?
