The WOD Life is proud to welcome Athlete Stephanie Ortiz to our growing Team. Stephanie trains under the tutelage of Ben Norman at CrossFit Adelaide. As a seasoned collegiate athlete now enjoying her growth in the sport of CrossFit, we look forward to supporting Stephanie’s journey as an athlete and trainer!
Originally from Colorado Springs in the USA, Stephanie grew up in the gymnastics gym and continued through her junior yeas of high school. After taking a nasty fall on the bars, she re-evaluated and moved across to diving. Her background transitioned well, receiving a scholarship to dive in college at the University of Wyoming, and dove collegiately all four years of school.
Moving from the USA to Australia, Stephanie jumped off the plane and straight into the box. Coming into her second year of CrossFit, as both an athlete and trainer at CrossFit Adelaide, Stephanie has never looked back!
Now less than a week away to the Regionals, The WOD Life caught up with Stephanie to ask her a few questions!
Doing tough shit (can I say that!?) brings people together, and its fun. Being challenged mentally, physically and emotionally day in and day out is not something someone can say they do on a daily basis.
What you are most looking forward to at Regionals?
The finish mat at the end of each workout. I figure if I can get there, then I am doing alright!
What workout are you looking forward to the most?
I am excited for the strict handstand push-up workout. Strategy will be the golden ticket, so I am interested to see the approach to this workout by other athletes.
What do you think the biggest challenge will be for you?
Each day holds a different challenge for me, so keeping a level head, listening to Ben Norman (my coach), and getting a good nights rest will be my focus.
What does The WOD Life mean to you?
A support network for the everyday athlete. The WOD Life endorses opportunity, quality of product and generates movement in the dynamic community CrossFit has. Get amongst it people!
