Games Week is finally here and with the move to Madison comes many more opportunities to test fitness. Lots of grassy fields and other open spaces will be added to the backdrop of the 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games. And while there may not be an ocean, there’s a big beautiful lake to serve as the arena for Event 1: Run-Swim-Run.
Love him or hate him, every CrossFit athlete knows that Dave Castro is notorious for cryptic messages and his photo of the Trek bike was no different. To test the Fittest on Earth, it couldn’t have been just a bike ride, no, we will see athletes pedal across grass and gravel and jump over hurdles, bike in hand, introducing the CrossFit world to Cyclocross for Event 2.
The fun doesn’t end there though. Day one carries on with another new event, a military-style obstacle course filled with ropes and endless amounts of wooden objects for athletes to climb, jump, and swing themselves through. Still no barbell in sight for day one with one event yet to be announced, it’s shaping up to be the most exciting CrossFit Games yet.

Have a Fittest Fan ticket? Try your hand at the Bike event on Thursday from 1:30-5:30pm CST. This free ticket will also give you access to the onsite CrossFit gym at the Age Group Pavilion.
If you aren’t one of the lucky ones to be able to see this year’s CrossFit Games in person, you’re in luck! Everyone across the world will be able to view all events of this years’ Games (for FREE!) on Facebook, the CrossFit Games Website, along with some coverage on CBS and CBS Sports.
