If you’ve ever snatched, then you know the bar feels heaviest right off the ground. Wouldn’t it make sense, then, to strengthen the path the bar takes from the floor to your hips? That’s exactly what Rob Forte did. By adding five-second pauses in five positions of his snatch deadlift — both on the way up and down — he worked on strengthening his positioning throughout the entire snatch pull.
