On the women’s side, both Wells and especially Davidsdottir made impressive comebacks. Davidsdottir in particular wasn’t really a part of the conversation after yesterday because her leaderboard standing wasn’t too promising.

Unfortunately, Kara Saunders – who started with a bang — just couldn’t hang on and finished in seventh place, even with an impressive first-place finish for Awful Annie, a workout she was predicted to completely knock out of the park.

One name we expected to see more of? Sara Sigmundsdottir, who finished in 21st place. Further down in 25th place was 2013 Fittest on Earth Samantha Briggs.

On the men’s side, Bayden Brown got knocked out of the top five and Chandler Smith just barely missed the cut-off, finishing in sixth place. Pat Vellner inched his way up the leaderboard but ended in ninth, and six below him was his pal, Brent Fikowski.

Surprising results? Absolutely. But this is what the games is all about.

See you in Aroma!
